Cleo Falls in Love

Cleo had never shown Kevin any more love than the rest of the family, UNTIL...

Once his hair was dyed fluorescent orange we could not keep Cleo away. Whenever she was out of the cage she flew directly to Kevin. When someone would attempt to remove her she would grab his hair with her beak and hold on for dear life

She just loved sitting by him. She was very content to be there.
It was suggested by a Caique Mailing List member that it could be the fluorescent nature of his hair attracting her. Here you can see Cleo glows green and Kevin orange.			I am sure that the fluorescence was the cause of the attraction (see The Sexy Glow of Parrot Plumage) although you can see in this picture that the orange is a perfect match).
But, alas, it was not meant to be. She liked to preen his beautiful glowing orange locks. We were not comfortable with this, as the dye was not permanent and we were concerned that the chemicals could harm her.
